Legal Awareness Classes

We are passing through an era of uncertainty and despair among women especially girl students because of the atrocities taking place in our society against them. Even if people speak about equality among men and women, the entire women community is not confident of getting justice from the dominant male section. Under the existing law women can move to the court of law for getting justice. In schools, colleges, public meeting places, while travelling in public transport vehicles and in cinema halls women, especially young girls face several abuses from men community. They are not aware of the legal points which can punish the culprits. Legal Awareness classes were conducted for undergraduate girl students in Government College under the auspices of Taluk Legal Service Committee. It was held on 24.7.2004 (Saturday) from 9:30 am to 3.30 pm. The function was inaugurated by Smt. FM Fathima Beevi, Chairman and Additional Sessions Judge, Kasaragod. Classes were handled by Advocates I.V. Bhat, Madhavan Malakad, M. Kusuma and C.Damodaran. All the girl students of the College attended the session.
